NBC Olympics selects Ericsson for 2016 Olympic Games in Rio

14 April NBC Olympics, a division of the NBC Sports Group, has selected Ericsson to provide video contribution and distribution solutions for its production of the Games of the XXXI Olympiad, which takes place in Brazil this summer. Ericsson will provide a range of its video processing solutions and advanced modular receivers, supporting NBC Olympics with the delivery of high quality, reliable HD broadcast to millions of US viewers.

Ericsson and Twentieth Century Fox to enable next-generation content on Unified Delivery Network

18 April Ericsson announces that as part of its global partnership with the Fox Innovation Lab, Twentieth Century Fox's research and development center, it is collaborating on a proof of concept for delivering a wide variety of Fox content. The proof of concept include new release and library movies, 360° audio/video, virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), and 4K Ultra-HD with High Dynamic Range content over any platform, device or network. This breakthrough innovation enables seamless, optimized and latency-free entertainment experiences that can support all current and anticipated playback devices, platforms, and networks.

Ericsson unveils global content discovery portfolio at NAB show 2016

18 April Ericsson launches its global content discovery portfolio at NAB Show 2016. Ericsson's portfolio of TV and VOD content discovery services including rich metadata, images, real-time triggering, analytics, 360 degree search and personalization will roll out across the US, Canada and Australia in addition to Europe, where it is already the largest provider of content discovery services. All services are delivered through Ericsson's real-time API, providing global data through one interface.

Ericsson expands Unified Delivery Network ecosystem with new partner additions

Following the introduction of Unified Delivery Network (UDN) during Mobile World Congress in February 2016, Ericsson announces additional content and service provider companies have joined the global content delivery ecosystem.  China Telecom, Chunghwa Telecom, Dolby Laboratories, Far EasTone Telecommunications, Globe Telecom, Mavshack, Paramount Pictures, Singtel, SK Broadband, XL Axiata, Vubiquity and Twentieth Century Fox represent the latest additions to an expanding list of companies that are uniting to significantly advance the traditional content delivery network model.
